Shelby Lofgren is a vocalist, pianist, and experienced teacher residing in Hutchinson, Minnesota. Shelby currently teaches kindergarten and first grade music in the Hutchinson school district and operates a private in-home music studio, providing voice and piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities. She also directs the Crow River Singers, a community choir serving Hutchinson and its surrounding communities.
Shelby obtained her Master of Music (M.M.) from the University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida). She attained her Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree in music education from Simpson College (Indianola, Iowa), where she specialized in voice and piano. She received her Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from Indian Hills Community College (Ottumwa, Iowa). In addition to holding K-12 vocal and instrumental teaching licenses in the states of Iowa and Minnesota, Shelby is a certified adjudicator for the Iowa High School Music Association and received the Golden Apple teaching award in 2016. Shelby has taught in the public school setting at both the elementary and secondary levels and has been employed as a vocalist, solo and collaborative pianist, choral director, clinician, choreographer, musical director, music adjudicator, and private music instructor. |
